Version 1.0.2 uses distinct DirectCart identifiers and the correct contributor account. Re-enter and save your business number and preferences after upgrading from the pre-review 1.0.0 build; the former generic option is neither migrated nor deleted to avoid affecting another plugin.
DirectCart is now published in the WordPress Plugin Directory as version 1.0.1. This website also offers a direct ZIP of version 1.0.2. Use the links on the product page to choose the release; do not replace a newer installed version with an older one.
Before you install
DirectCart Enquiries for WooCommerce 1.0.2 requires WordPress 6.2 or later, PHP 8.0 or later, an active WooCommerce installation and a WhatsApp number. Back up an active store and test changes on staging when possible.
The Lite release is free and licensed under GPLv2 or later. It does not require a payment, license key, external account or analytics connection.
Install and activate
Download the ZIP from the product page. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, select Install Now and then Activate Plugin. Do not unzip the package before uploading it.
After activation, open WooCommerce → DirectCart Enquiries. If the menu is missing, confirm that WooCommerce is installed and active and that your account can manage WooCommerce settings.
Configure the button
Enter the WhatsApp number with its country code and digits only, without spaces or a plus sign. Example: 201022426882. Set a short button label that describes an enquiry rather than a confirmed order.
Build the message with {product_name}, {price}, {product_url} and {sku}. Choose a button color with sufficient contrast and decide whether WhatsApp should open in a new tab, then save the settings.
Test before launch
Open a published WooCommerce product on desktop and mobile. Confirm that the button appears beneath the add-to-cart form, keeps the product layout stable and opens the correct WhatsApp number.
Check the prepared message for the correct product name, displayed price, URL and SKU. Test a product without an SKU, keyboard focus, a narrow mobile width and the optional new-tab setting.
Frequently asked questions
Does DirectCart create a WooCommerce order? No. It prepares a product enquiry in WhatsApp. The visitor reviews and sends the message, and the normal checkout remains separate.
Does the plugin store messages or customer data? No. Version 1.0.2 creates the WhatsApp link on the product page and does not store visitor messages or add analytics.
Can the button text and message be changed? Yes. The number, label, message template, color and link behavior are configurable from the DirectCart Enquiries settings page.
Why is the button not visible? Confirm that WooCommerce is active, the page is a published WooCommerce product, a WhatsApp number has been saved and the active theme calls the standard add-to-cart hooks.
Troubleshooting and support
If WhatsApp opens the wrong number, save the number again with country code and digits only. If the message is incomplete, restore a supported placeholder exactly as written, including its braces.
If the layout conflicts with a custom theme or product builder, temporarily test with a standard WooCommerce theme and disable only the suspected conflicting extension on a staging copy. Include the WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions when requesting support.
