Before promoting your business website: an enquiry checklist
Prepare your offer, contact journey and measurement before sending more visitors to your website.

Choose one main goal for each landing page: discuss a project, request a quote or explore a relevant service. Explain who the service is for and what the enquiry should include.
Link to relevant work and describe the actual scope. Avoid revenue promises or results that have not been measured.
Test the contact journey
Open the site on a phone, read the offer and try the intended contact route. Check that the email address or WhatsApp number belongs to the business and that the destination opens correctly.
A button opening an email app or WhatsApp does not confirm that a message was sent. Check actual incoming enquiries separately.
A five-minute check you can repeat
Minute 1: open the landing page on your phone without signing in. Ask a colleague to describe the service, who it helps and the next step using only what is visible. If the answer is unclear, rewrite the opening before adding more traffic.
Minutes 2–3: follow the main contact button and check its destination. Complete a test enquiry using a clearly labelled test message. For an email or WhatsApp handoff, review the prepared text and send it yourself; for a website form, check required fields and the confirmation shown.
Minutes 4–5: confirm the message arrived in the business inbox or phone, including spam folders where relevant. Reply to check that the return address works. Record the device, page, date and any failure; repeat after fixing a problem. A success message on the website alone is not proof of delivery.
Give visitors a useful enquiry outline
A short example for a business website: “Our company provides [service] in [market]. Current website: [link, if any]. We need [new site / improvement / maintenance]. The main customer action should be [quote request / booking / WhatsApp]. We can provide [copy, images and brand assets]. Preferred timeline: [date or undecided]. Budget range and currency: [optional].”
Ask for only the details needed to start the conversation. Keep budget and timeline optional when they are not decided, and explain what happens after the enquiry. Never request passwords, payment-card details or access to an admin account in a public enquiry form.
For a store, add the platform, approximate number of products and the exact issue or change needed. For maintenance, include the affected page and steps to reproduce the problem. This helps separate a focused fix from a broader redesign before a quote is prepared.
Keep promotion relevant
Send each audience to the service page that matches its needs. A company looking for ongoing maintenance should land on maintenance information rather than an unrelated product.
Use consistent campaign names in your approved promotion links. Keep personal information out of campaign parameters and use a separate link for each channel.
Measure business outcomes
Compare equal periods using visitors, traffic sources, contact actions and actual qualified enquiries. Record when changes or promotions started, and note other changes that could affect the comparison.
A useful first report separates observed data from assumptions: visits, contact intent, received enquiries, accepted proposals and confirmed revenue are different stages.
